Dairy Work

At O’Reilly & Fee Farm Veterinary Surgery Armagh

The Dairy Industry is undergoing many changes, and we see these changes across Northern Ireland and the Armagh. Supported by our team of Leading Clinical Vets and Specialists we offer the very best Dairy care across Northern Ireland.

At O’Reilly & Fee Farm Vets we encourage Routine Herd Visits to keep on top of regular fertility work (using ultrasound scanners) and other routine procedures. From these visits we are able to analyse your herd’s fertility and mastitis and production data allowing us to give advice to maximize your herd’s health and productivity.

Fertility Testing:

We can carry out milk screening, blood sampling and mastitis and cell count investigation, diagnose cystic and non-cycling cows, diagnose and treat infections and synchronise groups. This can be as part of Herd Routine Visits or stand alone visits with a clinician of your choice.

Production:

To support our clients and continue to offer the very best clinical care the team at O’Reilly & Fee will work closely with our dairy clients to ensure that we are fulfilling expectations with their milk contracts. Our team can provide continual udder health monitoring and management, as well as parlour testing advise on housing and nutrition to maximise both the health and production of your herd.

Our team of vets and vet techs will work with your herd to offer body condition and cleanliness scoring, teat scoring as well as antimicrobial use monitoring. As technology improves, much of this data collection is being automated and the team of vets at O’Reilly & Fee Farm Vets are confident working with this data. We are supported by extensive in house lab technologies which allow for accurate and rapid diagnostics.

Infectious Disease:

All herds are monitored for the main infectious diseases encountered in dairy herds and appropriate preventative plans put in place using vaccines and other management practices. From our practice at O’Reilly & Fee we have a well- stocked dispensary and are able to stock a full range of preventatives, medications and vaccines at a competitive rates. Orders can be collected, delivered to farm during visits or posted out to you.
